It's called the BIg 8 for a reason.

Following on from Matt's SEC Shennanigans I thought I'd write my own. Probably the first and last edition.

Propping up the bottom of Big 8 are Arlington and Ames on 2-6. They play each other this weekend but one has a game against the strongest side in the Conference and the other against a team still in the WGM as they are themselves. In a quirk of scheduling if both Ames and Quincy win they play each other in the next round of the WGM.

Next up on 3-5 are Quincy and Portland. Quincy have Pekin, a game they'll throw because anything is better than the Tomatoes winning the Conference but Portland have a tough three games; Columbia, Dallas and Cincinanti. Welcome to TMVL, Antoine.

In 4th we have Dallas who got off to a flying start with two 2-1 sessions but have faltered a little, though they did take Pekin to 5 sets and beat Quincy in 5.

Above them a resurgent St Charles, who have won 5 of their last 6 Conference games. Max is defenitely pushing for a Conference title or at least a good seeding in the Big 8 Tournament. Big conference gamnes this week against Dallas and..

In 2nd place everyone's (except Al and Roger) favourite, Columbia who will feel hard done by to lose to the bottom two clubs when level and only -1 in skills against them. They never get upset wins. With no WGM ("WE SCORED MORE POINTS") they can concentrate on the Conference this weekend, hoping to end the Scarecrows run and keep pressure on Pekin.

Topping the Conference are of course, Pekin but if Columbia beat them 3-2 in a dfew weeks, and all other results are the same, then Columbia will top the Conference on set percentage. The rules will state a shared title but it would be Columbia sitting on top.
