In going through the XP update exercise yesterday I had a Eureka moment.

WHY should we display/XP skills for players at skills that the game currently does not use?

It doesn't mean the game will never use them.  But for the immediate future certain positions don't and won't use certain skills.

IF we ever added concepts like allowing an RS to receive serves (they actually do in real life, but somewhat rarely) we'd have to do a blanket RCV update for RS's.  Anyway...

If you look at your team stats you'll be able to spot this:

Liberos - No kills (so ATK), no blocks (BLK).  But they do SRV, RCV, DEF (digs), and SET

Setters - They do everything but RCV

Middles (MB) - No RCV, and no SET

Right Sides (RS) - No RCV, No SET

Outsides (OH) - THEY DO EVERYTHING

This isn't to say in reality certain positions never do certain things (yes an MB or RS might be forced to SET a ball occasionally).  It is just pretty rare so its not modeled in the game for now (it may or may not be in the future).

So let's bottom line this.  

On the Orders page we show the USED skills for a position in bold and the NOT used in italics.

Let's go a step further.  Should we show the NOT Used skills as:

1) - 

2) X

3) Other ideas

I plan to update this in the orders page and teams page - wherever we show player skills for next season.

I probably won't remove the not used skill from the orders drop down list (yet), because there's likely a lot of testing with that which I'm not ready for.

But we can make it clear on the tables showing a dash, X, or whatever.
