There's a lot of chatter (rightfully so) abiout the three expensive 5 Star OHs recruited last session. I got one of them, and the question I am mulling (after having thoughrt about the bids beforehand a LOT) is... which one was the best value in this expensive market? I am honestly not sure, so looking for opinions. Never any shortage of those here! By way of review:, MAX+2 RCV went for 1601, MAX ATK went for 1540, MAX RCV went for 1541. PS: They are all bad values is not an acceptable answer, we already kinda know that!

I think the obvious take is the MAX +2 RCV for only another 60 RP...but the reality is...it would have taken a whopping 1790 to beat Andy's top bid!

He's not the only player on Roger's great team.

But when you get all-star like talent AND CP it to the maximum levels you get a great player. ESPECIALLY at the OH position since they do almost everything but SET. They are the workhorses!

I think Flores cost me just under 1500 at the time, so not that different to last week's players. If you want quality, you have to pay for it!

The money is way worth it, especially for the OH. OH is always a place where I struggle as Baton Rouge to put the CP in. I've been trying to reverse that trend. I had early success making sure my L and S were top notch, but although it helped on a season-wide overall record, and in conference play, the lack of a strong OH meant I lost the championship matches against the top tier teams. That, and Olmec hates me. :-)

Good OH's are expensive to CP, especially as a sophomore. Brehme cost me 134 CP this season, 18% of my total spend. He did roll all 11s with a max+2 ATK.

But I think Setters are equally expensive if they start decent at ATK. Dohm has been fully CP'd there and I wasn't worried where he played and not afraid of his setter dumps. His .482 rating is one of the highest amongst Setters that played a lot of games.

I think part of my problem is that I try to Max CP all of my underclassmen (providing they can get to at least B+ rating), and that then leaves no CP left for my Juniors. I know this is getting off topic from what Mike originally asked.

I agree that Max RCV+2 for 61k more than the Max RCV+1 is better value. And I'd take the Max ATK+1 over the Max RCV+1 for the same price but there's not much in it. Hard to pick between the better two OHs.

And it depends on how they roll of course.
