Quite like the pretyy crest pictured below, but not sure if bluebirds have red chests. However, I am not a birdy specialist so might be wrong about that! The club was originally founded in 1899 as Riverside AFC in order to keep the local cricket team fit during the Winter, before changing it´s name to Cardiff City, whilst the bluebird did not appear on the crest until 1959. The very original crest was a plain yellow badge with three red chevrons. As for the birds there have been many variations over the years since 1959 with the one on Olmec lasting four years between 2008 and 2012 when the owner Vincent Tan rebranded the club to gibve it a larger appal outside of Wales. At that point the bluebird was reduced to a minor feature and a big red Welsh dragon was given prominence. In 2015 the bluebird took over once again and the now reduced dragon became Chinese!

The club also have a celebratory gesture called the Ayatollah raising both arm up and down above the head in a patting motion. I can just picture Phil doing it now.
