Kind of moving Roy's comments under the "Prognostication" thread to this one. Here's what Roy had:
Any chance at looking at our own team prediction again for next season?
I finished only 4 points behind the eventual winner, but looking at my results - with only 5 wins in the season none of them fell on a prediction match so I get no points from my own team throughout the season. Next season I should do better as I'll be hoping to compete for promotion again, but it does seem like the system penalises managers of badly performing teams.
So my answer is yes. I will allow teams to pick W-D-L in every match including their own. That seems to be the majority opinion based on the feedback I've received. Are there any other changes that people have in mind?
For my part, I realize I need to automate the award and give it out after each session. However there were a bunch of coding adds for this season so that took a backseat...I'd like to complete that code in the off-season.
Please reply to this thread with other prediction league ideas/changes. Based on feedback for ideas proposed, I may be swayed to make other changes as needed.
