I posted this on my Team News by mistake then realised I can just repost on the Forum and get another 5k. If only all my mistakes were this profitable!
Anyone else watching the Rugby World Cup? Ireland and France both looking incredible but have the All Blacks and Springboks standing in their way in the QFs. I wouldn't be surprised to see South Africa go all the way again. England just looked abysmal against Samoa and will struggle to get past Fiji. Farrell getting his penalty timed out has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Wales looking good though - what a change Gatland has made - and should be locked on for at least a SF spot.

Can't help fancy France being at home but if England can't win it and I don't expect they will I hope Ireland continue playing great and go all the way.

But when will it end - It seems to have been going on forever!

I never got intop rugby, but I wish I had because it looks like a great time. My vote is pure speculation.

It's a good shout Brian. The All Blacks have got a tough match in the QF against World #1 Ireland, but the men in green have a habit of choking at this stage of the competition.

Ireland do have a habit of choking and have never made it to the semifinal stage. Can't help thinking if they do beat the all blacks they will go all the way.

Maybe more out of hope than belief, but we are the holders so...

I'll back my heritage in Ireland, but not a huge rugby fan. I enjoy rugby 7s in the olympics. But that's about it.

Not an event I much enjoy - until the quarter finals. Up to then there are just too many matches with no significance.

Down to four after two cracking QFs and two decent ones. It's probably unfair to say Ireland or France choked, as both the All Blacks and Springboks were superb. Wales can consider themselves unlucky that the ref substitution brought Karl Dickson on to the field. Fiji were just unlucky.
SF line-up:
Argentina v New Zealand
England v South Africa
It would be a huge surprise if we don't end up with a NZ v SA final.

Looks like my random pick is still going strong.

Let's go wild England ha ha , personally it's been brutal, Fiji were so physical, France were so quick, South Africa just came through and now New Zealand defeated they must be favourites

I've always found it's best to just continue straight on the M6 to Coventry or south on the M1 to Northampton without stopping.

So New Zealand v South Africa it is, but England came mighty close to upsetting the Springboks. Can't helping feeling that had Ford played instead of Farrell there might have been a different outcome.
Anyway, that leaves Brian just one step from rugby prediction immortality....

NZ and SA are both three times rugby world champions, with SA the current title holders. This is the first time they will meet in the final since the famous 'Mandela' championship immortalised in the film Invictus (Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman). Well worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

Hoping to enoy a great game of rugby tonight - and I'll enjoy it all the more for being neutral
