It seems Lewes really don´t like Jose Drummond. Manager Dohm seems to have instructed his players to target the gifted midfielder at any opportunity. In the season opener in the FA Cup poor Drummond had to be stretchered off with a nasty knee injury. The unlucky lad still recovering from that experience was then forced to play again at Lewes due to a lack of midfield resources last session and was targetted once again for malicious treatment on the pitch in a series of deadly two footed lunges that can only be described as career ending challenges. The nastiest of which was committed by Lewes keeper Marcus Cruz. Despite the quick actions of Weston Physio Higashiguchi who had to amputate Drummonds broken leg on the pitch, the ref insisted the game continue. Captain Nii Mingle stepped up to the spot and although still visibly shaken by the blood splattered all over the penalty spot and took revenge by scoring and securing the points away to a devastated Lewes.

Despite this setback the one legged Drummond has vowed to continue and is already back in training, all be it on crutches.
