Since there seem to be discussions about wins and losses, I figured I would join the fracas about them. First, the "bad" news, there are four managers/coaches on the verge of joining the 100 loss club: Simon Compton (96), Allan Sellers (97), James Tucker (98) and yours truly (98). Bad was in quotation marks as only one of those teams sports a sub .500 record (yes, mine). Recent (Season 11) inductees to the 100 loss club would be the following: Abe Hamdali (103), Andy Bate (103; 15-6-5), John Holden (105; 10-7-8), James White (107; 8-7-8), Ian Lindsay (108; 10-5-9), Dan Fitzgerald (110; 9-3-11) and Rob Peterson (111; 7-3-12). Only Abe, thus far, has a sub .500 record of the recent inductees. Most of you really made sure you did not get that 100th loss in Season 10 for some reason. I can only hope to do the same for this season.
There is good news out there too. Fred Wilkens only needs 1 more win to reach 100 wins albeit with a sub .500 record. With a 10-2-10 record this season, he should be able to garner that 1 win before season's end unlike the next closest team/coach to 100: me again with 92 wins. With 4 matches left, it is very unlikely that I manage 8 wins.
Now the "ugly"... there is one 200 win team and one 200 loss team. Alon Atie, now with 207 wins, has become the milestone setting coach of excellence. Meanwhile, Derek Purvis has dropped 201 matches. You extremists need to center yourselves. Alon please try losing a little more and Derek try winning a little more.
Coaches that reach the century mark have obviously coached in excess of 100 matches. Seems as though this experience produces winning teams.
