quick suggestion
Posted by Martin Burroughs on Saturday, Mar. 3rd, 2012 at 11:55 AM

Don't know if this is possible, but it would be good if any links opened from the orders page always opened in a new tab: the number of times i've been halfway through and clicked on another team....

Hi Martin, thanks for your post.  Let's try to get to what you are after.  Would it help if the orders page itself opened to a new tab/page with "no menus/logos" near the top to click?  It sounds like you are in the middle of orders (unsaved) and decide to click on something else to analyze your approach to a lineup.  Let's talk more and go from there.

For other managers if you are having a similar thought please post.

I know what Martin is getting at but I just open the site on two different windows, using one for the orders and the other to look things up.

Exactly right Al. I do open up Multiple windows like Carl says, but I have the attention span of a puppy, and inevitably end up clicking in the wrong window....and the orders have gone again.

Brilliant!

I'm not the only one them!

Carl Oakes on Monday, Mar. 5th, 2012 at 7:01 PM

I like your proposed enhancement to this request, Al.  If the Orders page opened in a new window, without the team header and other page links at the top, you could never navigate away from it by mistake instead of the main page.  Then you can reference whatever you'd like from the main window without any impact on the orders window.  Once the orders are complete and saved, we can manually close that window ourselves, so it doesn't shut automatically before someone is done reviewing orders to see if mistakes were made or amendments are needed.

I think that would work better than having all the new pages opened just from the Orders page open in a new window.  Those like Carl, Martin, and admittedly myself as well who bounce around between windows often enough would end up with 6-8 open by the time we're done inputting orders...

Sounds good guys, thanks for the feedback.    I'm open to more comments on this and will try to look into an update in the near future.
