Dubious back room boys
Posted by Martin Burroughs on Sunday, Nov. 6th, 2011 at 12:52 AM

Am I alone in having some dodgy characters? I've got Nigel Kennedy- does everyone get a famous violinist or is it just me? Doesn't he famously support Aston Villa? Can I really trust this man's loyalty? My other BRB is Billy Cook, who according to Wikipedia was a mass murderer who killed 6 people in 22 days. He's coaching my 6 youth players. Ermmmm....

Ha! That's pretty funny. I never thought to google some of the names that come up to see what links they might have to real people...

Martin - as always you clearly have far too much time on your hands!

Dave Gittins on Sunday, Nov. 6th, 2011 at 3:20 AM

Vital man-management Dave- have to understand your staff to get them motivated. I'm most worried by Linus Schulz, who can only be the kid that carries the blanket in Peanuts. Not sure he's cut out for the top divisions....

Martin Burroughs on Sunday, Nov. 6th, 2011 at 3:13 PM

Fair point - I'm not too bothered about my own BRB, but among the players I do have a SBY who may be better off going for a career in golf and an aging DF who may be related to Bob Dylan. Oh, and I thought I had Joey Barton in there for a moment as well.

Dave Gittins on Monday, Nov. 7th, 2011 at 4:45 AM

Martin,

My backroom staff include:

Ben Hunter (born June 16, 1985, in Doncaster) is an English footballer who currently plays for Matlock Town F.C.., and

Alfonso Ribeiro, Actor: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

So the actor and violinist cancel each other out.  I get a current player, playing for a team I haven't heard of , compared to the mass murderer... hopefully they don't come into your tactics

Nickolas Vatmanidis on Monday, Nov. 7th, 2011 at 6:57 AM

Billy Cook belongs in Tonbridge.  Must've got the work orders swapped around.

Kevin Martin on Monday, Nov. 7th, 2011 at 7:19 PM

I just had a look at my players a bit more. Also have Kenny Terry (R&B Singer) and Terry Hunter (US House DJ). Bit worried that Nigel Kennedy will set up some sort of avant-garde trio with them and take them off on a tour of Mongolia....

On the other hand, I do have Paulo Conti (Italian international of some repute). Must be good.
