New Season (Pre-Season Auction A)
Posted by Vick Hall on Thursday, May. 2nd, 2024 at 2:48 PM

The fans are delighted to be back in the top flight this season and are excited about the season ahead. Let´s hope it won´t be a short stay this time although it will most likely be tough looking at the quality of the opposition. Brentford, Bristol and Plymouth all have a whacking T11 of 11.64, whilst QPR boasts one even higher at 11.73. On top of this the top flight currently contains all three of the unholy trinity in Lewes, Preston and Tranmere. It all looks very daunting as Southend and Swansea are no pushovers either. Survival up here will be a fantastic achievement. Nii Mingle has been awarded the Captain´s armband for the year and will be trying to inspire the lads from the front, ably abetted by Zewlakow and Milligan. Zewlakow has netted 12 times for the club since joining from Bristol City and has a growing reputation as a superb marksman and is looking forward to starring with Mingle up front. Keeper Carroll has seen his save percentage increase each year at the club and now stands at a respectable 85.9%. Lets hope he can improve upon that in this campaign and with Freddie Harris marshalling the defence in front of him that certainly seems a possibility.

Our league campaign kicks off against two of the most unholy with a tough home game against Lewes before having to travel to Preston. If we can get some points from these two games it will be a good start to the season!

We're going to have to look out for each other in this torture chamber, Vick.

I have to say I'm a bit scared of that Weston Fw line...especially with Ghanaian international Nii Mingle at the captain slot. Wow!

yes it is just unfortunate I have too many forwards to fit in a team lineup!
