One to watch (Session 11)
Posted by Steve Turner on Friday, Jan. 27th, 2023 at 10:37 AM

I mentioned that I thought I knew Pierre from SESL, which he confirmed. So I searched through the past coaches table and then the teams until I found him.

Turns out it wasn't that long ago but I don't know the names of many SESL managers for their teams (in contrast I could probably name every team's coach here).

Pierre became the manager of Brechin in season 46 after mis-management of the club. He gained promotion at the end of season 47 and again in season 49. He then took Brechin to 2nd in Division One in season 51.

You have been warned.

I remember him Steve - his profile picture looked like a guy with a pic doing standup. Wonder why he isn't at SESL now....

Hi Steve and Colin,

If you look it that way, my time at Brechin City was a success. But I need to say I´ve got some good help from other managers, some care taking and some good luck.

Yes, Colin, I had a picture of me with a mic as I was on stage with the farewell musical of my group students because I´m a teacher. I have quit with SESL because I think the match engine wasn´t my thing. It was all about managing EL and SL which dropped everytime. I also think SESL was a very nice and active community with lots of good and kind managers.

I think TMVL has kind of the same community and I´m always enthousiastic to learn new games, especially games with many stats etc. As a newbie it´s difficult to understand all the numbers, but I´ve got the time....

Ah Pierre, you saw my typo - I did of course mean mic not pic ;-)

Did I read that correctly, Pierre? I could've sworn I read the words '...I'm a teacher...' and '...I've got time..' in the same post...

My teacher friends all claim to work ludicrous hours during term time with barely enough time to eat let alone submit orders!

Hi Craig, yes, you´ve readed it correctly. It was my mistake. I mean `I´ve got time when I sleep´ offcourse :).

But at the other side a teacher has  11/12 weeks vacation each year, so lots of time to recover from the work weeks.

Ah yes, the holidays.....I'd want three times those holidays to put up with young 'uns though ;)

Craig Bucknall on Wednesday, Feb. 8th, 2023 at 11:31 AM

I´m sure the holidays can get quickly used up if you volunteer to run some of these optional summer camps or some such. just saying....
