![]() | Sandbagging... (Session 3) Posted by |
Sandbagging is a term we use in the US of A to identify something where expectations are lowered.
Some coaches (you know who they are) try to project low expectations for their teams. In soccer/football parlance, they say things like "we are 9 goal underdogs" in matches they know they'll win.
Or in volleyball they might say "Oh, we'll be lucky to win a set". You know who "these" people are.
Well, I need to call out Kevin Martin and his Sr. 93 rated OH Jared Pruitt as "Sandbaggers".
Pruitt, in overall rating is second only to Carlsbad's Dorsey (never bet against Phil at a Wednesday luncheon).
He's a 19...NINETEEN on serve receive. He has a 2.82 rating on serve receive. No one is higher. He hasn't been aced by an oposing server this season.
But, he's only played 6 sets (that's where the sandbagging comes into play).
Oh and he's now a +1 on FIT.
Anyone who playeds the Swamp Rats (and that's Roy, Mike H, and Derek this session) could be in trouble if Pruitt is in the lineup.
Good luck SEC folks...
