Kingstonian arrive with something resembling attacking intent, which is more than I can say for most things in this universe, and their forward line will cause Kendal's defence a degree of suffering I find personally relatable. However, Greg Smith will lumber forward at some point and equalise, because that is simply what happens in football, in life, and presumably in whatever comes after. A draw is the most honest result possible — everyone tried, no one truly won, and we all go home slightly emptier than before.

Kingstonian are going to come at Kendal like a battering ram tonight — that forward line is absolutely loaded and they're going to generate chances all evening long. But Kendal's midfield engine, with Armstrong and McLaughlin putting in the hard yards, will grind out enough of a foothold to keep this competitive. A share of the spoils feels right, but don't be surprised if this one feels like a war from first whistle to last.
