Olmec Really Does Hate Us - Now It's Mutual (Session 11)
Posted by Ellis Simpson on Monday, Jan. 7th, 2019 at 1:36 PM

Or, how Olmec turned us into relegation fodder.

Two league games, one at home and one away.

For the away game, we plan for a draw. We stifle Dagenham & Redbridge's bold attempt to fire their way out of the relegation zone, with a near perfect defense. We concede one attack and create three. We manage the 0-0 draw we had hoped for.

For the home game, we plan for a win. All out attack, and damn the horses. (Or whatever...) And Port Vale get clobbered by our seventy-five points of attacking beauty, and we generate a tremendous forty four attacks. Port Vale are not taking this lying down, however, and they generate thirty three attacks. Could be close. Except it's not. We lose 4-0.   We'll pass over the horrendous injury we suffered. (Again.) We'll pass over the five penalty claims we had, none of which were awarded. (Again.) We'll simply say, Olmec, we hate you

Next and final session we have to hope for a drastic improvement - or an Olmec lovefest - in our games against Leeds (6th) away and Oldham (4th) at home. If Southend do better than us next session, we are going down. If Dagenham and Redbridge do really well, we are going down.

At least we know who to blame.
