The Plan is Perfect, The Implementation Less So! (Session 6)
Posted by Ellis Simpson on Tuesday, Nov. 27th, 2018 at 5:14 AM

Honestly, it was a great plan. Every detail had been worked out. Every reasonable possibility had been considered. You will notice I said "reasonable".

Well, the plan was turned into mush by the combined efforts of Lincoln, Nottingham, and Olmec.

We drew 1-1 with Nottingham because they out-thought us,. Now that definitely was not in the plan. Neither was a draw, but given the collapse of the plan, the draw was better than the loss. (But why did Nottingham play hard? Mystery.)

We also drew 2-2 with Lincoln. I mean, come on, we were supposed to lose that one! Fortunately it was two reserve sides meeting, and a cracking match ensued.

Last up, which at least did go according to the plan, was the away win in the FA Cup against Brighton.

This session, we have to come up with a better plan. League games against Southend and Dagenham and Redbridge, then an AP Cup tie against Oldham. Let's see what better plan there might be.
